While Roy seems mild-mannered on the surface, he has deep emotions and longs for social connections like any other pony. Roy can't resist the ladies, and Ponyville is home to many a cute mare. Roy's feelings of infatuation have put him in more than a few unfortunate situations - getting in fights, being teased, and manipulated - that he is loathe to remember, so he is often very cautious and anxious when at a social gathering. But every so often, Roy tries to summon up his courage and go say hello. At least, he tries.
